According to trusted source “BGR”, Samsung is all have set to release a new tablet running Android 4.0 in the upcoming Mobile World Conference in Feb 2012 at Barcelona, Spain.
The most striking feature of this new tablet will be its 11.6-inch display boost with the latest generation of Google’s Android Ice Cream Sandwich running device that Samsung has paired together with a high-resolution panel pushing out stunning 2560×1600 pixels.
Despite the 11.6-inch display used, BGR reports that Samsung’s upcoming tablet will be barely larger than the current Galaxy Tab 10.1 since it uses a much thinner bezel. While the 16:10 resolution may seem somewhat awkward in today's 16:9 world, this aspect ratio standard for most tablets out there, while some models, like Apple's iPad 2, even stick with the much older 4:3 screen format. Together with this new and impressive screen, Samsung will also install a 2.0GHz Exynos 5250 system-on-a-chip (SoC) device in its upcoming creation, that packs dual ARM Cortex-A15 cores and a powerful GPU.
Samsung’s tablet will also feature Android Beam technology, for syncing media with the Galaxy Nexus and other NFC Android devices, as well as a special wireless docking mode for gaming on HDTVs effectively turning it into a gaming console.
It will also feature Android Beam for easy syncing of media with a Galaxy Nexus, and a special wireless docking mode for gaming on HDTVs.
The dual-core Exynos is reported to be on the same performance level as Apple’s A6 CPU.
If Samsung manages to release this in February 2012, then it will be the world’s first tablet that supports a Retina level of resolution.
The device is also expected to sport 4G LTE connectivity, a feature likely to be encountered in more and more mobile devices to be launched next year, as more carriers start developing their 4G LTE networks.
