LG has unveiled this week that its line of 3D Smart TVs arriving in 2012 will be equipped with Intel’s WiDi technology. Enabling owners to be able to stream high quality content from tablets, phones and computers. When using the new WiDi streaming technology no connection to a router is required, with media being able to be streamed directly from device to device.
LG Home’s Seog-ho Ro explained:
“Through this strategic alliance, Cinema 3D Smart TV users will be able to access a wider variety of content in a more convenient manner,”
“Intel WiDi will be one of several features that will enhance the user convenience of our Cinema 3D Smart TVs, further differentiating our products from the competition.”
The new LG Cinema 3D Smart TV sets with integrated WiDi will be showcased at CES 2012 next month. But unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet, but as soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.
