Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 Technical Specification Features and Details

One of key low-end versions of Samsung Galaxy series, the Galaxy Mini will likely get an upgrade, called the Galaxy Mini 2 at the upcoming MWC 2012. The Galaxy Mini 2 S6500, codenamed Jena, is set to run Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The handset has recently passed through FCC, sources reveal. Some tech blogs have posted leaked images of the rumoured Galaxy Mini 2. Indeed, the Mini 2 will be an attraction point in the Sammy’s booth at the MWC 2012, to be held in Barcelona, Spain late this month.

FCC has reportedly approved the Galaxy Mini 2 for GSM 850 and 1900 as well as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC. But, sadly, the Galaxy Mini 2 will come up without 3G support due the failure to get approval of any WDCMA bands. The new Galaxy Mini will have a tidy design and it may come up in various colors. Being not a champ in tech specs and features, the Mini will be a dinkier and lightweight handset.

It is a great thing that the moderate Galaxy Mini 2 will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, one of the best Android versions ever. Certainly, an average smartphone will work quite nicely on Gingerbread, which is out-of-date with the arrival of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

As per sources, the Galaxy Mini 2 will mount a 3.3-inch HVGA TFT display with an average screen resolution of 320 x 480 pixels and 3-megapixel rear camera. 800MHz single core processor will power the handset with 3GB internal memory, which will measure in at just 109mm x 59mm. No other details of the specs of Galaxy Mini 2 are available for the time being.

Some analysts would like to prefer to call the forthcoming Galaxy Mini 2 a ‘smart’ feature phone. Well, the South Korean tech manufacturer has made a huge penetration into the global feature phone market dislodging the Finnish mobile maker Nokia. The company further aims to establish its supremacy in both the feature phone smartphone markets. The Galaxy Mini 2 is a handset that blurs the gap between Samsung’s feature phones and smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 will definitely grab attention of customers with its sleek and slight design. There are lots of customers, who look forward for cheap and lightweight Android phones out in market. Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 will absolutely go with their requirements well.

Samsung will either sell the handset for free or for $29.99 with contract through some U.S carries. Thanks to 850 and 1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE radios, the Galaxy Mini 2 is compatible with both T-Mobile and AT&T networks. It seems that the Galaxy Mini 2 will be up for grabs in the U.S. soon after its release at the Mobile World Congress. It is not clear whether the Mini 2 will land in global markets.

Nokia Lumia 805 Render Looks like the Nokia X7 at first sight

There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Well doesn’t Nokia like to reuse designs? They’ve adopted the same N9 polycarbonate shell for the Lumia 800 and 900 and now it’s rumored that they’ll keep at it, for a Symbian model with a great camera. Apparently, they’re also fond of the Nokia X7 design, that might be reused to create the Nokia Lumia 805, as shown in the render below.
This images surfaced on Baidu, a Chinese web service and search engine. Nokia Lumia 805 is supposed to feature a 3.9 inch ClearBlack WVGA display, 16GB of internal memory, a 1450 mAh battery and a 12 megapixel camera wit Carl Zeiss Optics and dual LED flash. The X7 had a 4 inch display, 8MP camera and 1200 mAh battery, so the upgrade is welcome. Nokia shouldn’t be ashamed of reusing the design, as the X7 was the coolest Symbian phone I played with, in terms of design.

What I didn’t like about it is that not all 4 corners hid speakers, as it was rumored before its launch, so maybe this time we’ll get an uber music phone with 4 corner speakers. What do you say? Is this just a mere render or a real new Nokia Windows Phone unit?

HTC One V to be announced at MWC focusing on Beats Audio

As the week continues it appears that HTC’s new naming scheme is all but confirmed. Yesterday we reported that the new names for a few of their upcoming devices were the HTC One X and the One S. Today new details have also leaked mentioning a third device to be announced at Mobile World Congress. Previously known as the HTC Primo this Beats Audio focused phone will be the HTC One V.
As we already know and have link to below, the One X will be the official name for the quad-core HTC Edge, while the HTC Ville will be known as the HTC One S. Sources from Pocket-Lint have now confirmed the One V and possibly even a HTC One XL too. The new naming scheme is a bit odd but they look to be taking the same approach as the others — like Samsung’s Galaxy, and LG’s Optimus to keep things simple. As long as we don’t get names like Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, (way too long) I’ll be happy.
If sources are accurate the new HTC One V will be their newest and most audio-focused device yet. Clearly using the Beats Audio integration and bundled with new headphones from Beats Audio. Being the smallest of the three we are expecting to see at MWC 2012 with a 3.7″ display the One V will be powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Sense UI 4.0 and have a single-core 1.0 GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. It will be a mid-tier budget friendly device with a 5 megapixel camera. As we mentioned above it was previously rumored as the HTC Primo but we can expect it to be announced at the end of the month as the HTC One V. Stay tuned for more details as we will be live at Mobile World Congress.

Nokia 808 Pureview Mockup Picture Shows a Potential Design of the N8 Successor

There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Nokia 808 Pureview is a device that’s supposed to be the next big cameraphone, the successor to the Nokia N8 handset. This phone will be shown at Mobile World Congress 2012 and for now we have a mockup of the smartphone, rendered by artist Brian. As you can see, the design sticks to the classic Nokia styling from 2-3 years ago.

This render is based on a leak of a user manual for the Nokia 808, that was published on the web a while ago. We’re expecting here a huge camera sensor, maybe a 16 megapixel unit and either a Xenon or dual LED flash. Carl Zeiss technology is a must and this model is supposed to run Symbian or as it’s called now Nokia Belle or maybe even Nokia Carla. Well, I guess that if the phone is thin overall no one will mind its bulky camera sensor, right?
After all Samsung and Motorola have been pulling the same trick with the Galaxy S II and Droid RAZR, keeping the handsets slim up to the camera sensor, where they get thicker. Would you buy this Nokia 808 Pureview cameraphone considering the fame of its predecessor? We’ll see the real deal at MWC 2012 at the end of the month

Future Runs Windows 8 ARM KL-1 Smartphone Has the Graphic Power of a PS3

Aitor Amigo sent me a very futuristic and very hot looking futuristic smartphone, the ARM KL-1, which runs Windows 8, sports some Android emulators and has the graphic power of a PS3. The device’s design reminds me of some Samsung Galaxy S III concepts, but this time with a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

This phone uses a Cortex A15 8 core 2.5GHz processor, a dual Mali-T658 GPU and it has 3 versions of storage: 160GB, 320GB or 640GB with 3GBs transfer. Its specs resemble the ones of a top notch desktop from modern day and even include as much as 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM (1600 MHz). There’s also a dual 16 megapixel camera with Full HD 3D capture and at the front we find a dual 5 megapixel 3D HD webcam. ARM KL-1 also features Dolby Digital TRUE HD 7.1 sound and it’s even able to run Windows 8 64 bit version.

On the connectivity side, we get GPS, EDGE, HSDPA, WiFi, DLNA, WiMAX, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB 3.0 and a 5.1 inch AMOLED full HD Screen with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The battery of this futuristic smartphone is an Ion-Lithium carbon nano tube unit (9600 mAh), that gives you ten times the capacity of a normal battery. The device measures 7.6mm in thickness and weighs 119.80 grams. Aitor Amigo says that this ARM KL-1 phone is so good that it easily runs Crysis 2 or Starcraft and its compatible with any title on any platform out there.

Motorola Gleam+ Clamshell Featured Phone

Motorola just unveiled the Gleam+ – a simple folding handset that should rely on an attractive price to lure in customers. The Motorola GLEAM+ is as a stylish and easy to use as ever for the consumer who enjoys the simple things in life, without compromising on design and functionality.
This clamshell handset will feature a 2.8-inch LCD display at WQVGA resolution, while the external display that shows off basic status updates will comprise 144 LEDs. A modest 2 megapixel fixed focus camera should cater for your photography needs, while Bluetooth 2.1 and USB 2.0 are all the Gleam+ has to offer in terms of connectivity.

Forget about using this as a mobile Internet device, as there is no Wi-Fi option built in and FM radio and a 3.5mm audio jack complete the (admittedly short) highlights list for this one. The 50MB of internal memory can be expanded by up to 16GB via a microSD memory card.

BlackBerry 10 Phone London Mockup Appears… Officially?

The web has been abuzz today with the image below, supposedly showing a mockup of the first BlackBerry 10 phone, the rumored BlackBerry London. I’ve heard about this phone before and it was nowhere nearly as cool as the one on in this picture. We’re dealing with an ultraslim device (somewhere around 8mm I guess), with a front camera and an OS that also provides support for ported Android apps.

The inside source claiming to be in the know about the BlackBerry London says that RIM is thinking about either the TI OMAP5 or the Qualcomm processor in this phone, both in the 1.5GHz flavor. I also expect here an 8 megapixel camera, a 4.3 inch display, business features, 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and maybe even LTE. I wonder what’s the deal with the UI shown here, that’s very clean and simplistic, something that let’s face it BlackBerry OS never was.

Sony Xperia S To Feature Anti-Stain Shell

Sony recently announced their latest Android smartphone, the Sony Xperia S, and now we have some more details on the device, it will apparently come with some sort of special anti-stain shell.
According to a recent report, the anti-stain shell on the Xperia S is some sort of special nano coating that will be dirt repellent and also UV active, and the device is also reported to come with a fast charging ability.
These details weren’t announced when the device was unveiled, and the fast charging battery will apparently reduce charging times by 50 percent and you will also be able to charge you Xperia S for 10 minutes and get 1hour worth of battery life.
The Sony Xperia S features a 4.3 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, processing is provided by a a dual core 1.5GHz processor and comes with 32GB of built in storage, there is also a 12 megapixel camera on the back which comes with Sony’s Exmor R sensor and can record full HD video in 1080p.

The Xperia S also comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera which is capable of 720p video and it also feature NFC, DLNA, HDMI and Sony’s Bravia Sync, it will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but Sony have said it will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Nokia Style Runs Windows Phone Tango, Sports Dual Core CPU

The Nokia Style concept is a device based on Windows Phone Tango and its specs include a 12 megapixel camera and the design features you can see pictured below. It reminds me a bit of the HTC HD7 combined with an iPhone 4 and that facade with the capacitive buttons doesn’t look that realistic.

Nokia Style features a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, a 32GB internal memory, a 2400 mAh battery and a 2 megapixel camera at the front, but other than that I have no idea what features this model has. I guess that it also supports LTE, NFC and maybe 1080p video capture, courtesy of that potent camera. With recent rumors that Nokia is preparing a Lumia 910 model with 12MP, I’d say that it would have similar specs to this unit, maybe apart from the Windows Phone Tango part…
I would have liked to see the back side of this model, as I have a feeling that it looks very much like the one of a HTC smartphone. wp7__fan, the designer of the Nokia Style mentions that his concept sports a metallic unibody case.

The handset is seems the successor to the LG Optimus 3D P920 smartphone, which was official announced back in January 2011. The LG Optimus 3D 2 is reported to feature a dual core 1.2GHz processor, and it is also expected to feature the same 4.3 inch WVGA display as the original version.

Other feature is a 4.3-inch touchscreen WVGA Nova display (with the 2D and 3D modes), a 5MP rear-facing camera, GPS, NFC, HSPA, Bluetooth 3.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. The LG CX2 Optimus 3D 2 dual-core smartphone could be official announced in Barcelona next month during MWC 2012.

Motorola has just announced two new handsets aimed for the budget market.

Called the MOTOLUXE and Motorola DEFY MINI, the phones are designed to offer consumers the full Motorola Android experience without having to cost a bomb. The MOTOLUXE features a 4.0 FWVGA (480 x 854) edge to edge display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a front facing camera, a multi-colored LED for notifications, Android Gingerbread and a thickness of 9.8mm.

The DEFY MINI is a smaller 109 x 58.5 x 12.55 mm and 107g, but accommodates a larger 1650 mAh battery along with Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi b/g/n (with WiFi Direct support) and an FM radio. It still has dust proof, water resistant, scratch resistant capabilities, which should help it live up to its DEFY name.No word on pricing at this stage, beyond the promise that they’re “budget-friendly.

iPhone SJ Polycarbonate Phone is a Tribute to Steve Jobs

Antonio De Rosa, the man behind ADR Studio shows us his newest iPhone concept, the iPhone SJ, a tribute to Steve Jobs. This beautiful device is a futuristic vision of the way an iPhone of the future could look like. The iPhone SJ packs a capacitive touchscreen made completely of glass and a polycarbonate body for a shell.

The result is a very light phone, that features an Apple A6 dual core processor and a 10 megapixel camera, speculated specs of this concept device. Using polycarbonate for the chassis worked fine for Nokia with the N9, so why not adopt this idea for the newest iPhone as well? As you can see here we’re dealing with an edge to edge screen that looks larger than 3.5 inches, so we may be dealing with that 4+ inch Retina Display we’ve all been craving for?
An elongated home button is also present, a sign that gestures are coming, possibly in iOS 6.0. The design of the iPhone SJ is very thin, maybe thinner than the iPhone 4S, so it may even reach 7mm through the technologic advances. For me, this design combines the look of the older iPhone 3G/3GS units with the iPhone 4/4S design direction, with the result being a modern handset with a very beautiful facade and an interesting way to integrate volume buttons.

Google Nexus Ultima, the First Android Jellybean Device

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.The 4th Nexus Phone comes from Bob Freking, as the Google Nexus Ultima concept shown below and the first phone with Android Jellybean on board. We’re dealing here with a premiere: the first handset made by all 4 major manufacturers from the Android world: LG, Samsung, HTC and Motorola. Android Jellybean also combines the UI features of Touchwiz, Motoblur, Sense and Optimus UI.

Each of the manufacturers supplied a component from a field they excel in: Samsung gave the Exynos CPU, LG and Samsung created the display, the camera and design were done by HTC and Motorola is responsible with the build quality and the rest of the features. Google Nexus Ultima packs a 4.7 inch RGB IPS+ HD 720p display that generates 1000 nits of brightness. There’s a 2MP camera upfront with 1080p 30 fps capture and a main 13 megapixel shooter with dual LED flash and 60 fps 1080p video capture.

The back of the handset is made of kevlar and this 2012 Nexus Phone comes with a steel frame that protects the internals of the device. The CPU of choice here is a quad core Exynos 5250 (Cortex ARM A15 MP Core and Mali GPU). There will also be an extreme edition of this handset, with a higher price, a Super AMOLED HD NOVA screen, a 20 megapixel camera and 5MP front cam, all of these protected with waterproof and bulletproof glass. Remember that this is only a concept, which measures 9mm in thickness!

Nokia Lumia 900/Nokia Ace image leaked?

One of the best news in the recent times about mobile world, Nokia is gearing up to launch the next Lumia Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia 900 and we must be seeing it to get officially announced at CES 2012 event along with Nokia Lumia 719 handset. A new picture of the Nokia Lumia Windows Phone has been surfaced on the web. The handset in the picture was painted in different colors including White and Yellow. Many tech blogs have been claiming that it is Nokia Lumia 800 pictured in a variety of colors. But, we doubt that it could be the upcoming Nokia Lumia 900 handset.

By judging the picture carefully, we can conclude that it is indeed the Lumia 900. You can observe that the space for the touch-sensitive buttons is smaller to make the screen bigger. Lumia 800 is having a bigger space among the buttons at the bottom of the front side. Oh, yeah! There’s a front facing camera on the top left corner of the handset in this picture. We’re not sure that this is 100 percent to confirm that it could be the Nokia Lumia 900t hat we are expecting to see at CES event in early month.

Although we’re still waiting to confirm specs that have already been leaked, we are letting you know that Nokia Lumia 900 will be running Windows Phone Tango OS, having a 4.2-inch touchscreen display with 480 X 800 pixels of resolution, 1.4GHz single-core chipset, an improved 8MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, a 4.2-inch display, a glossy polycarbonate body, 32GB of internal memory and all the regular features of a Windows Phone. It is also expected to be rolling out in 4G LTE variants either for AT&T or Verizon.

Loving the Nokia Lumia 900 in White color? BTW, a few days ago, we’ve also seen a leaked render image of the handset painted in red color, which is being rumored as Lumia 900.
